Guidance

The comprehensive guidance program at DJHS follows Alabama State Department of Education guidelines. It focuses on developing and strengthening positive academic, social, career, and interpersonal skills within each student. Guidance sessions include methods of William Glasser's Choice Theory.  The goal is to enable students to learn skills and a positive attitude required to be successful in school and throughout life.  Strong emphasis is placed on helping students develop self-awareness, self-esteem, and good interpersonal relationships. Enhancing good character traits and sound decision- making are also very important aspects of the counselong program.
